moa

   MOA EXPLANATION

The moa became extinct because people kept on killing them to use their fur and maybe eat it.  It had one natural predator, the Haast eagle until humans hunted it.  Different species of Moa were hunted for food, their meat.

Maori people hunted the moa because they were useful

for the human.  Even they could eat it.  Eventually, they died out from overhunting from the Maori people.

  DEFORESTATION-EXPLANATION

Deforestation is caused by men cutting down trees with chainsaws.  Disease and fire also cause deforestation.

In 100 Years, there will be no Rainforest! Now there is less than 10 percent left. Deforestation is when forests are converted for other causes by cutting down the trees to clear the land for other people to use.

With 7 billion people on the planet, we need more land to build more buildings, raise cows and lots more and grow food.

The loss of trees and other plant growth, can cause climate change, the start of a desert, oil, fewer crops, flooding, increased greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.

To stop deforestation we need to stop cutting down trees and plant more seeds to grow more trees.
